The Story Behind The ABQ Collective

Katherine & Bob Riolo
Owners
At The ABQ Collective, we believe business is better done together. Founded by Katherine and Bob Riolo, The ABQ Collective grew from 10 years of experience selling handcrafted birdhouses throughout Albuquerque.
They noticed many local artists had full-time jobs and could only sell on weekends. The Riolos realized what these entrepreneurs needed was a shared space to maintain a continuous presence.
In 2018, they transformed an empty furniture store into a dynamic 3,000-square-foot community hub and incubator with micro-retail shops, a coffee shop, a salon, a barbershop, an outdoor patio, and a stage for monthly evening markets. "We believe success comes from lifting each other up," says Katherine.
